About Deller Recyclist Apparel

Deller Recyclist Apparel began in 2004 when artist/designer, Shaun Deller began making a few custom bike caps for himself and friends. His idea was, and still is, to make a small line of hats with function, fashion, simplicity and sustainability in mind. The inspiration for each hat style comes from images of cycling's early years.

Tweed clad ladies and gents leisurely pedaling through the pastoral countyside of perhaps England or France, or of the early fixed gear racers in wool knits ascending rugged alpine passes.

All of the caps are designed, and cut in a small trailer studio in Oregon. Some of the caps are sewn by a local sewer and some are still sewn by Shaun. All fabrics are salvaged from local thrift stores and washed using bio-degradable detergents. Tags are printed on 100% recycled paper.

Besides this, Shaun can be found learning and teaching about wilderness living skills and awareness through the Portland based organization, TrackersNW.
"These things inform my life, art, awareness of place and self, and connection to the world. Check out my blog to read more about what I am up to." ~Shaun
